RM of Douglas’s story
The Rural Municipality of Douglas No. 436 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909. It lies in west-central Saskatchewan, in Census Division No. 16 and SARM Division No. 6.
Two villages, Speers and Richard, are surrounded by the RM, and the municipal office is located in Speers. Within its boundaries are the unincorporated localities of Alticane, Keatley and Lilac.
A Canadian Pacific Railway line once served the area and has since been abandoned. Today the RM is crossed by Highways 40 and 376, and its listed attraction is Crooked Trees.
